Light: Full sun to partial shade | Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile
Fruit Drop Time: October to Early November
🏞️ Product Description:
True to its name, the Deer Candy Persimmon is a grafted, self-pollinating American persimmon tree that delivers sweet, sugar-rich fruit right in the peak of Whitetail activity—October to early November. If you’re serious about bringing deer in during daylight hours, this tree is a proven magnet.
This is one of the most consistent and attractive fruiting trees for hunting properties, offering early-rut food sources that whitetails just can’t resist.
🦌 Why Whitetails Love It:
The high sugar content in these persimmons makes them a favorite fall treat. Deer will go out of their way to check on these trees—especially when other food sources are drying up. The drop timing aligns perfectly with pre-rut and early rut activity, encouraging daylight movement in your plots or near your stands.
🌱 Grafted & Self-Pollinating:
This variety is grafted for consistent fruit production and does not require a pollinator to set fruit. However, if you happen to have male persimmons in the area, they can increase fruit yield even further by boosting pollination success.
📏 Delivery Size:
Shipped at 18–36 inches tall, ready to plant and establish quickly.
🛠️ Planting Tips:
-
Plant in full sun for maximum fruit yield
-
Space 15–25 ft apart if planting multiples
-
Use a Tree Survival Kit to reduce stress and protect young trees from browse
-
Water during dry spells for best establishment in year one
🌿 Summary:
The Deer Candy Persimmon Tree is a whitetail-focused, fall-ripening powerhouse. Grafted for reliability and loaded with sweet fruit, it’s the perfect addition to hunting properties, food plots, or wildlife orchards looking to boost rut-season movement and nutrition.
Sweet fruit. Peak rut timing. Serious daylight draw.

Healthy Trees, On Time!
I placed my first order couple months ago. Everything came on time, order was right, and trees healthy. Everything has leafed out and growing great! Had such a good experience that I placed a second order. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Oak Orchard
I purchased 35 hybrid oak trees from Morse in 2005 and a majority of them are still alive and have been producing acorns for years. One is even big enough to hunt from. I planted them with tree tubes and watered them regularly for the first two years. It has been a pleasure watching them grow.

Great customer service!
I highly recommend Morse Nursery! My trees arrived 100% healthy. I was really impressed by the height of the trees. I expected little trees like I’ve gotten from other nursery’s. Will keep buying from you guys. Great customer service too.
