🏞️ Product Description:
Don’t let the name fool you—Chokeberry is a powerhouse shrub for wildlife habitat and land improvement. This tough, native shrub produces abundant dark berries that are eagerly eaten by birds and other wildlife, while also offering dense, shrubby cover for bedding and protection.
Perfect for use along field edges, food plots, or access trails, Chokeberry adds beauty, functionality, and seasonal value to your property.
🫐 Wildlife Value All Season:
From late summer through fall, Chokeberry fruits provide a reliable food source for game birds, turkeys, deer, and small mammals. Its shrubby growth habit makes it excellent for natural browse and escape cover, especially in edge habitats.
🌾 Cover, Screening & Structure:
With dense branching and multi-stemmed growth, Chokeberry is ideal for creating low visual screens, enhancing bedding thickets, or forming the backbone of a diverse native hedgerow. The plant also responds well to light browsing, encouraging thicker regrowth over time.
🪶 Bird & Pollinator Friendly:
Its blooms support pollinators in spring, while its berries attract songbirds and upland game birds in late summer and fall—making this shrub a true multi-purpose species.
🛠️ Planting Tips:
-
Space 4–6 feet apart for a dense screen or naturalized cluster
-
Ideal for field edges, low areas, or mixed habitat plantings
-
Use a Shrub Survival Kit to protect young plants and improve drought tolerance
-
Tolerant of wet soils and partial shade
🐾 Summary:
The Chokeberry Shrub is a top-tier native plant for anyone looking to add food, cover, and diversity to their land. Whether you're building wildlife habitat or just want to attract more birds and pollinators, this shrub earns its place in any planting plan.

Healthy Trees, On Time!
I placed my first order couple months ago. Everything came on time, order was right, and trees healthy. Everything has leafed out and growing great! Had such a good experience that I placed a second order. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Oak Orchard
I purchased 35 hybrid oak trees from Morse in 2005 and a majority of them are still alive and have been producing acorns for years. One is even big enough to hunt from. I planted them with tree tubes and watered them regularly for the first two years. It has been a pleasure watching them grow.

Great customer service!
I highly recommend Morse Nursery! My trees arrived 100% healthy. I was really impressed by the height of the trees. I expected little trees like I’ve gotten from other nursery’s. Will keep buying from you guys. Great customer service too.
