🏞️ Product Description:
The Chestnut Crabapple is a standout among crabapple varieties, producing large 2"+ fruits with a sweet, nutty flavor that’s often compared to fresh-pressed apple cider. A favorite for both people and wildlife, this crabapple combines flavor, nutrition, and ornamental value all in one tree.
Whether you’re managing a food plot, enhancing an orchard, or just want a deer-drawing powerhouse, the Chestnut Crab delivers.
🍎 Exceptional Fruit Quality:
These apples aren’t your average crabapples. The fruit is large, sweet, and bursting with flavor—perfect for fresh eating, wildlife, or even homemade cider. It’s a top pick in orchards with dozens of varieties, and it’s easy to see why.
🦌 Highly Attractive to Wildlife:
Deer, turkeys, and other game can’t resist the sweet scent and taste of ripened Chestnut Crabs. Their early to mid-fall drop time makes them ideal for hunting season attraction, especially when other fruit sources are dwindling.
🌳 Flexible Planting Options:
Offered in both grafted and non-grafted forms to meet your planting goals:
-
Grafted: For faster fruiting and known variety consistency
-
Non-Grafted: Ideal for large-scale plantings and hardier roots in rougher soils
🛠️ Planting Tips:
-
Space 15–25 feet apart for orchard layouts or habitat rows
-
Use a Tree Survival Kit to protect young trees and boost early success

Healthy Trees, On Time!
I placed my first order couple months ago. Everything came on time, order was right, and trees healthy. Everything has leafed out and growing great! Had such a good experience that I placed a second order. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Oak Orchard
I purchased 35 hybrid oak trees from Morse in 2005 and a majority of them are still alive and have been producing acorns for years. One is even big enough to hunt from. I planted them with tree tubes and watered them regularly for the first two years. It has been a pleasure watching them grow.

Great customer service!
I highly recommend Morse Nursery! My trees arrived 100% healthy. I was really impressed by the height of the trees. I expected little trees like I’ve gotten from other nursery’s. Will keep buying from you guys. Great customer service too.
