🏞️ Product Description:
The August Persimmon Tree is a rare gem in the world of wildlife habitat and orchard planning—an early-dropping, native American persimmon that kicks off your season with sweet, high-energy fruit starting as early as August. This variety is partially self-fertile, meaning it creates male and female flowers, but for produces more fruit and is more consistent when a male pollinator is in the immediate area (within 50 yards).
Its early fruit drop is timed to draw deer into predictable patterns well before the acorns fall—perfect for trail cam inventory, early bow season setups, and establishing movement where you want it most.
🦌 Perfect for Hunting Properties:
This tree is a powerhouse when it comes to habitat design:
🍽️ Early-Season Sweet Treat:
Persimmons are loaded with sugar, vitamins, and moisture, and deer absolutely hammer them when they hit the ground. With fruit dropping August into early September, this tree puts you ahead of the food curve—ideal for setting early stand sites or conditioning movement to kill zones.
🏹 Set Patterns Before Pressure Builds:
Early food means early opportunity. Use this persimmon to get deer locked into predictable routes before crop harvest or acorns shift their behavior.
🦃 Multi-Species Attractant:
Turkeys, raccoons, songbirds, and even black bears will feed on the fruit. It’s a magnet for wildlife activity and a great addition to mixed-species plots.
🌳 Self-Fruitful & Easy to Grow:
Unlike most persimmons, the August Persimmon is self-fertile, so you don’t necessarily need multiple trees to get fruit. That makes it ideal for small plantings, orchard rows, or standalone trees near plots and trails. It’s also tough, low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and thrives in a wide range of soils. Having a pollinating partner is suggested.
🍂 Great for Orchard Use Too:
Because it produces early and consistently, this variety is a top choice for commercial orchards looking to begin harvest in August and streamline production timelines.
🛠️ Planting Tips:
-
Space 20–25 ft apart for optimal canopy development
-
Mulch to retain moisture and reduce competition during establishment
-
Use Tree Survival Kits to protect young trees and improve survival
🐾 Summary:
The August Persimmon Tree is your go-to for early fruit, easy planting, and serious wildlife attraction. Whether you’re running cameras in the summer, setting up bow stands for early season, or building a more productive orchard, this tree delivers on all fronts.

Healthy Trees, On Time!
I placed my first order couple months ago. Everything came on time, order was right, and trees healthy. Everything has leafed out and growing great! Had such a good experience that I placed a second order. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Oak Orchard
I purchased 35 hybrid oak trees from Morse in 2005 and a majority of them are still alive and have been producing acorns for years. One is even big enough to hunt from. I planted them with tree tubes and watered them regularly for the first two years. It has been a pleasure watching them grow.

Great customer service!
I highly recommend Morse Nursery! My trees arrived 100% healthy. I was really impressed by the height of the trees. I expected little trees like I’ve gotten from other nursery’s. Will keep buying from you guys. Great customer service too.
