More like Master Gunnery Sergeant Oak! This Oak, along with our Sergeant #5, is about as good as they come! This hybrid reliably produces acorns every year, with heavy acorn crops on alternating years averaging between 800 and 1000 pounds. That’s right, production of up to a ½ ton of acorns! This hybrid cross of two oaks in the White Oak family produces a sweet acorn consumed by all wildlife, and preferred by whitetails. The parent tree exhibits a very large acorn, nearly twice the size I normally see with this hybrid, and recently produced over 1000 pounds of acorns! This large acorn is one of the primary reasons for my selection of this tree, and it is a fantastic selection for whitetails because the acorns are so large that birds can’t eat them. Your whitetails will have zero competition for this crop! If you’re serious about investing in superior wildlife habitat, you need to include this in your selection of must-have oaks!
