Hybrid Chestnut cross between European and Japanese (Layeroka). I’ve used this Chestnut to replace other strains of Chestnut trees that have died for whatever reason (known as the “replacer”,) with very good success. Nuts are very sweet and trees produce at very early ages some as early as three years with most between 4-5 years. As with all Chestnuts trees plant in well drained soils and lots of sunlight. More upright growth than Chinese reaching heights of 50 ft or more have been reported.
